Synopsis: In the small Western European country of Alpeshere, people are born with a "curse of death" that means they will die by the age of 23, surrounded by the sea and the black, cursed flower—Lycoris Noire.

Alpeshere, where death is evenly distributed among its people, has come to be known as the country captivated by the Grim Reaper.

The citizens lament their short lives and strive against their fate. After years of research, they developed a system to abandon their bodies and keep their memories alive—“Memory Downloading.” Those who persist in living through this method are called "Relievers," continually resisting their short lives.

At the same time, there is a girl known as the "Grim Reaper," who brings misfortune to all who come into contact with her. Just as the girl, who lamented her life, attempted to end her existence, a mysterious man claiming to be the "Guardian of Death" appears before her.

Guided by the Guardian, the girl is inexorably drawn to uncover the "various mysteries of death" lurking in the country. The fate of those captivated by the Grim Reaper leads to—despair, unknowingly.
