Description:
The Celica LB Turbo made its debut in the Group 5 race, part of the German domestic championship, held as a support event for the F-1 German GP on July 30, 1977. Built on the Toyota Celica LB, the car's engine was tuned by Schnitzer, known for their BMW modifications. The 2090cc DOHC 16-valve inline-four engine, equipped with a turbocharger, produced 560 horsepower, and significant modifications were made to the chassis and body within regulatory limits. Driven by H. Artur, the Celica LB Turbo achieved its first victory by defeating the dominant Porsche 985 Turbo at a race in Zolder, Belgium, on October 16.
