Group 4 Machine That Dominated Races
The Porsche Turbo RSR, developed for international sports car racing starting in 1976, is based on the Porsche 930 Turbo. Known as the 934 Racing, this Group 4 machine was produced in 31 units. The Max Moritz team, sponsored by the German liquor manufacturer Jägermeister, featured two Porsche 934s in striking orange. These cars had a successful season, including a 1-2 finish at the 1976 DRM (German Sports Car Championship) Round 1 at Nürburgring and a notable performance in the World Manufacturers' Championship Round 4 at the Nürburgring 1000km race, where car #24 finished 3rd in class and car #25 achieved 3rd overall and class victory.
