This is a completely new story set in the present, following the "Memories Off" series that began in 1999 and concluded in 2018. Despite the series' end, many fans have continued to support it. To celebrate the 20th anniversary in 2019, a new romantic narrative unfolds. The character design is handled by U35, a well-known manga artist and illustrator, bringing fresh energy to the series.

The protagonist, Hayato, helps out at his family business, Mizumoto-do, while attending university. His heart is bound by the memories of his brother, Takaya, who passed away last year. Struggling with the question, "Why did I survive?", Hayato meets a girl one day who bluntly states, "You should have died instead." The ties surrounding his brother’s death begin to stir.
