What is "Mystery Dungeon"? Every time you enter a dungeon, the terrain, monster placements, and items found are different, providing a unique adventure each time. You start at level 1 with every dungeon attempt, requiring you to defeat monsters to grow and collect items to enhance your capabilities. However, if you fall in the dungeon, you'll lose all your items and return to level 1.
Despite its challenging rules, the game progresses in a turn-based manner where every action taken by Shiren prompts an action from the monsters, allowing you to think carefully as you play. Even if you fall, strive to conquer the mystery dungeon armed with the knowledge and experience you've accumulated.
Story: Months after the adventures in Tsukikage Village, Shiren the wanderer and his companion, the weasel Kappa, are drawn to a mysterious dream that leads them to one of the small islands in the inland sea—Toguro Island. The island is rumored to hide pirate treasures everywhere, with the greatest treasure supposedly resting in the belly of a monster at the deepest part. Hearing this rumor, powerful adventurers from across the country flock to the island, dreaming of striking it rich. What connection do Shiren and Kappa’s dream have with this island? And what treasures lie hidden here? The new adventure of Shiren and Kappa begins!
