Story: The protagonist, Yamashiro Koyomi, graduated from university and was aiming to become a high school teacher by taking the teacher certification exam. However, he kept failing...

Just when he began to lose hope and question whether he was cut out to be a teacher, he finally received a passing notice.

Excited about his new life as a teacher, the protagonist soon discovers that the school he was hired at is actually a training school for Yûma (幽魔)—imperfect monsters that need to be trained to become full-fledged beings—located in Ôma Prefecture, Japan's 48th and least known prefecture.

To his surprise, he was not hired as a teacher but as a trainer for Yûma. Though inexperienced, he reluctantly accepts the position after the principal promises him that if he completes one year of training successfully, he will help him get a position at another school.

Will the protagonist, with no training experience, be able to train Yûma? And can he help these unskilled Yûma grow and develop?

Thus begins his uncertain life as a homeroom teacher and trainer with only a year to prove himself before transferring to another school.
