From the Foreword:

I have been working on tattoo art for forty years, and recently, it seems that more young women are getting tattoos. More people are requesting sketches from me, and I often create portraits of women adorned with elegant tattoos. This collection includes such artworks, reflecting a trend where women are no longer outdone by men in terms of tattoos. Women are vibrant — hence the term "female era." Once symbols of male bravery in Edo, tattoos have now become a glamorous fashion choice for women. I hope you enjoy these signs of change in this collection. Additionally, as a new attempt, I have included "sketches" in this collection. I hope you appreciate the efforts of a tattoo artist dedicated to their craft. — Kaname Ozuma

Recommendation:

Tattoo artist, Third-generation Horiyoshi Kaname Ozuma gained worldwide recognition through his tattoo beauty portraits. Our friendship has lasted about 35 years, and his tattoo works, likely over a thousand, continue without concern for his own ease, ready to draw until his brushes wear out. His dedication is remarkable and shows continuous progress.

About the Author:

Kaname Ozuma was born in 1939 in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture. From a young age, he was tutored in Japanese painting by his uncle, the painter Sakai Kusako. At 18, he moved to Tokyo, worked in print art, trained under art dealers, and interacted with renowned Japanese painters. He established his own world of tattoo beauty portraits, influencing both Japanese tattoo artists and international tattoo creators. In August 2010, he held a "Kaname Ozuma Tattoo Exhibition" in Los Angeles, which was a great success. Member of the Japanese Literary Association.
