After the first Antarctic expedition, significant modifications were made to the "Soya" vessel during the second and third expeditions. These included:
The foredeck was altered to a flat state without side notches.
A helicopter landing deck was added.
The bridge was expanded with additional side structures.
A forward gantry mast was added, and the rear gantry mast was relocated.
Thin bilge keels in four sections were installed on each side.
Large helicopters were equipped.
The most significant changes were made during the third expedition, focusing on enhancing the aerial transport capabilities of large helicopters. These modifications ensured sufficient transportation of personnel and supplies, even when the Soya could not approach the base due to worsening weather conditions.
The kit includes newly developed parts such as the upper hull, bridge, deck, helicopter deck, and gantry mast. Additionally, it features a newly designed DHC-2 seaplane (1 unit) and two Sikorsky S-58 helicopters (2 units).
