In the year 1863 of the Boshin War, a girl named Chizuru Yukimura travels alone from Edo to Kyoto in search of her father, who has gone missing. While in the unfamiliar city, she is attacked by ronin, but is saved by a member of the Shinsengumi who cuts down the bloodthirsty creatures.
Through a strange connection, Chizuru joins the Shinsengumi and encounters mysterious swordsmen as she continues her search for her father. As the story unfolds, the dark secrets of the Shinsengumi and the existence of the Rasetsu are revealed.
