• Story:

  • The protagonist, Ryunosuke, loses his mother to illness and finds himself wandering aimlessly. He is then attacked and robbed by samurai loyalists heading to Kyoto. With no food or money, he waits for death until he encounters Serizawa Kamo of the Shinsengumi, who takes him in.

  • Despite his disdain for samurai, Ryunosuke reluctantly begins to accompany Serizawa and the Shinsengumi, who are known for their brutal actions. Through his interactions with them, Ryunosuke starts to understand their aspirations and dreams, leading to changes in his own heart.

  • The story explores what it means to be a "samurai" and where one’s path lies amidst the turmoil of the Bakumatsu era.
